I originally trained and worked as a Registered General Nurse and then Registered Midwife.
I developed an interest in Complimentary Therapies and studied for a Diploma in Holistic Aromatherapy, which I successfully completed, with distinctions in July 1997.
I've overlapped the Midwifery with the Aromatherapy and have many years experience using Aromatherapy for the pregnant women within the hospital maternity unit. Ladies would be referred by fellow midwives, doctors and consultants, with various problems, including aches, pains and stresses or because they wanted to use Aromatherapy and massage during labour.
I have continued my complimentary development with courses and workshops in a variety of related topics including Bach Flower Remedies, Indian Head Massage, Advanced Massage Techniques, Reiki I and II, Thermo-Auricular Therapy (Hopi Candles), Thermal Stone Massage, Sports and Injury Treatments, Hands Free Massage Techniques and Facial Treatments.
As a member of the International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists (I.F.P.A.), I now work from my private practice at home, seeing a wide range of people, many for stress related problems, many for back and shoulder pain and others for facials, reiki, hopi ear candle therapy and all with differing requirements - everyone is individual.
